Director of Operations and Process Design

In 2024, Chloe joined VJF as the Director of Operations and Process Design after a decade of industrial and system engineering, process improvement, and operations experience. Her goal is to amplify VJF's impact on the local community by enhancing internal capabilities while leveraging others in Rochester's economic development ecosystem. Chloe is the founder of Chloe Handelman LLC - an operations consultancy that offers fractional operational leadership and consulting to purpose-driven organizations. Her passion for using business as a force for good shapes her zealous approach to human-centered operations.

 

Evelyn Holmes

Loan Servicing Lead

Evelyn is our Loan Servicing Lea and works with our borrowers on communications, collection of loan payments, work-out arrangements on past due loans, communicating changes to VJF on payments, and updates on existing business operations.

Evelyn also communicates requests for additional loan capital or payoffs of existing loans.

She previously worked at the Rochester Economic Development Corporation.

Alexis Russell

Marketing Director

Alexis is a seasoned Marketing Director with a decade of expertise in storytelling and content creation. She founded Inspiring Experiences, LLC, an empathy-driven agency focusing on strategic marketing and self-discovery to elevate individuals and community voices. Alexis has coached over 60 organizations and leaders globally, fostering authentic communication and brand narratives. She holds a Women in Entrepreneurship Certificate from Cornell University and has academic foundations in sociology, anthropology, and psychology from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Alexis is also an accomplished speaker and panelist at national and global conferences.

 

Laura Habza

Projects Manager

Laura works with VJF part-time to support events and conferences, manages licenses, represents Venture Jobs at meetings and workshops, executes special projects, coordinates training programs, and interfaces with ecosystem partners in Rochester to support the entrepreneurial needs of small businesses.

Dennis M. DeLeo

President Emeritus

Dennis M. DeLeo founded and currently serves on the Board of the Venture Jobs Foundation, which began offering low-cost loans and entrepreneurial training in 2017. VJF nurtures small businesses in Rochester's low-middle-income neighborhoods.

Dennis co-founded Trillium Group, LLC — a Rochester-based venture capital and private equity firm. Prior to founding Trillium Group, he worked at Eastman Kodak, where he rose to Vice President and Director of Corporate Commercial Affairs.
